Drop/Adjustment Policy

Students dropping a Castleton course prior to the 13.33% class duration point, will receive a full refund/billing adjustment for the cost of that course. Once the 13.33% point is met, there will be no refunds issued. Summer courses can have different start and end dates, so summer courses follow this formula-based add/drop calculation.

Here is an example of how it works:
A class might start on May 24 and end on July 2. That makes a total of 40 days, so 13.33% of 40 days is 5 days. For this class, students would have through May 28 to drop with a full refund. After that date, there would be no refund.

Students taking classes at other Vermont State Colleges (CCV, VTC, NVU), would need to contact that school directly for information regarding their refund policy.

Tuition Adjustment

Students who withdraw from a course early enough may be eligible for a partial tuition adjustment, please contact Financial & Registration Services for more information.

Summer Grades

Students may view their grades through Self-service approximately two weeks after the last class meeting. Non-matriculated students may also use Self-service to view/print their grades.
